A great devotional for young to middle school kids. Each devotional has a scripture, a story, a prayer, and either a "Did you know?" fact or "Get Ready To Roar" encouragement, and a "Find the Anchors" challenge. Love the artwork throughout the book. Easy to read and to understand.

With so many messages and media directed at children, it can be challenging to find tools that teach Christian values in relevant, interesting ways. Roar Like a Lion: 90 Devotions to a Courageous Faith by Levi Lusko and Tama Fortner with illustrations by Catherine Pearson is the perfect resource!
This gender-neutral devotional with its eye-catching cover is a great resource for a wide variety of ages; even adults will benefit from its 90 themed devotional messages. Families can read the book in numerical order or use the index to find an entry particularly relevant to the day's challenge or celebration.
Each of the 90 devotions is a two-page full-color spread (see third photo) that includes a Bible verse, brief message, prayer, and an additional section titled "Did You Know?" (historical or scientific fact) or "Get Ready to Roar" (activity). The text is relatable for current times, approachable for children, yet not juvenile. I honestly enjoyed reading through the devotions as a middle-aged adult.
I'd appreciate more ethnic diversity in the illustrations, and I don't like assigning male pronouns to God as this book does, but the positive aspects outweigh its shortcomings
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.
