The world seems dark and threatening.
Everyone has turned their backs on you
and you feel hopeless and alone.

The harder you try, the more you fail.
You're slipping into the swirling blackness
and the light slowly fades
until it is merely a speck thousands of miles away.

Like a single star shining, it is a small ray of hope.
And a small ray of hope is all you need
to realize that you've hit rock bottom
and there's nowhere to go but up

-one of my earlier works, this came from a time of darkness in my life-

Good effort; I like the imagery of the swirling blackness and the light fading to a mere speck thousands of miles away. Ends on a hopeful note with a "small ray of hope" and "nowhere to go but up." Reminds me little of one I did a while back called "darkness comes," although I think mine is a little bleaker.

This piece is very stirring and sincere...a glimmer of hope, though small, was the answer you heeded from the universe that brought you up again into light, and the promise of life.
