Very disappointing. I love the X-Men and I adore Rogue in particular, so I was really looking forward to a novel starring her. Unfortunately, the author totally dropped the ball. It seemed like the author had another story she wanted to write, more hard sci-fi about aliens, and sort of shoehorned Rogue in there after skimming her wikipedia page. There's no discussion of other mutants or any other tie to anything else in the Marvel Universe. Rogue herself wasn't written too badly, but while she wasn't a shrinking violet, she wasn't her usual powerhouse stuff either. And her snark was completely missing. Add in a boring Gambit-lite love interest, and I'm done.
