This is a behind-the-scenes look at the surprise hit New York production of Fiddler on the Roof in Yiddish. The book is a collection of excerpts from Samantha Hahn, the youngest cast member. She interviewed most of the cast and a number of others: choreographer, director, producer, language coach, etc. There are certain actor/production experiences which rise above all others as being particularly gratifying and special. This production appears from the interviews to have been a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Joel Grey, in particular, appears to have been an exceptional director. If you love the theater, this is a great inside look backstage.
