Jed
He'd been hired to escort Miss Tacita Grantham from New Mexico Territory to San Francisco--an easy job for a rugged Westerner like him. But he didn't count on her little rat of a dog sinking its teetch into his leg. Nor did he plan on fallin for the fair maiden with her big blue eyes and golden curls
Tacita
At first she thought Jedediah Hardcastle was a brute of a man with no manners whatsoever. But when she saw he'd do anything to protect her--even rescue her beloved Rosamunda--she knew his bark was worse than his bite. And when she first felt his kiss, she knew he was the only man who'd ever touch her heart.
Rosamunda
She was a Yorkshire Terrier with impeccable breeding, and she knew her mistress loved her more than anything the world. She'd thought she was doing Tacita a favor in biting the overgrown beast who suddenly wouldn't leave them alone. But soon Mistress seemed to care for him, and Rosamunda realized that for humans there was no rhyme or reason once love was unleashed.

Cute story about a trip from texas to San francisco with a Yorkshire Terrier and her mistress, a handsome coyboy guide and many adventures. From the Yorkie's point of view she is smarter then both of them.

This is the story of Rosamunda, a dog. Part of it is told from her point of view. This is a light-hearted story about a Yorkshire Terrier, a wealthy woman-of-class, Tacita Grantham, and Jed Hardcastle, a frontiersman, hired to take Rosamunda and Tacita to San Francisco.

However, the trio is not allowed to go to San Francisco without trouble. Some want the very valuable dog and others want a valuable jewel.

I thought the book was a bit over the top with cuteness and thought the plot could have been a bit tighter (this cuteness went on for 360 pages). 3.5 stars
