This book reminds me of the saying, "I could tell you the secret but then I would have to kill you!" Lucinda Riley has written a brilliant story that had me gripped from the very start.

Joanna, a young reporter, is asked to cover the funeral of Sir James Harrison, a famous actor. She stumbles upon a mystery that could devastate the British monarchy. Due to the scandalous nature of a secret written in a letter delivered to the famous actor 70 years ago, Joanna is followed by secret agents who hope to discover the location of the letter before she does. What develops is a fascinating plot with twists and turns that keeps the reader captivated until the very surprising ending. The characters are true to life and very believable. The book is packed with romance, mystery, history and conspiracy. It is an excellent escape novel that you never want to end. I have read a few other books by Lucinda Riley but this is the best so far and does not disappoint. I would highly recommend it to those who love to read about the royal family.
