I struggled with reading this book. The character was interesting as were the rest of her family, but it was basically about average living on an Amish farm. The thing that I struggled with the most was the way Lizzie (the main character) whined and complained about having to do chores, about her weight, about her sisters being loved more than her, etc. It just got old to me that she was constantly whining about something and so lazy! It also was annoying that she was constantly pigging out. I don't know . . . I think I just didn't care for her character overall.

One interesting thing though is that in the back of the book, they include recipes of things that Lizzie's family ate. I thought that was a neat idea!

I think this is a good book for yong adults to read. You do not have to be Amish but just trying to figure out what life has for you.

I really liked this series! I've read numerous Amish fiction and this is first time I laughed while reading them. I thought the author did a great job by making Lizzie funny. The things she said, her thoughts and how she acted. Since the author grew up Amish I assumed she based some of the book on her own experiences but I could be wrong. Of course, the female on the cover looks nothing like how the character is described.

I really did not care for this book at all. I found the writing simplistic, amateurish and unsophisticated. The main character was hard to sympathesize with because she was so whiny and self-absorbed. It felt to me like it was written by a middle-schooler rather than an adult, aimed at other adults. I will not be reading any other books by this author.

This book did not hold my interest as much as I thought it would. Being an Amish writer I thought I would really enjoy it. The Characters seemed weak, and wisshy washy. Will read the next book in series as I have found some series start out slow and pick up.
