I really didn't enjoy this story all that much. Basically the H believes that the h is his late nemesis' mistress and when he discovers that she wasn't, he blackmails her into becoming his mistress by donating money to her charity. Neither character is particularly bright or likeable and the story is a familiar one of misunderstanding, breaking up and then reconciliation. It's been done before and been done better, I'm sorry to say.
