Historical fiction is one of my favorite genres, and this book did not disappoint. The story of Dietrich Bonhoeffer presents the dilemma of those Germans who opposed Hitler but did so at the risk of their own lives and the lives of their families.

If you were impressed by Schindler, you will fall in love with the heroic efforts of a true WWII German hero, Dietrich Bonhoeffer. It is a high principled piece of writing filled with stirring action and introspective doubt from the mind and heart of a theologian who decided to live and ultimately die to help the Jews. Impressive!
