A Hot Time in the Old Town - Spur McCoy had been sent to the town of LaGrande, Oregon, to investigate a case of suspected murder and arson. A land office agent had been burned to death, along with all his valuable records. For a small town, LaGrande harbored a lot of unsavory characters. Just to keep things lively, notorious outlaw John Ringo was passing through as well, quick on the trigger and mean as a bear. Spur was faced with a bewildering number of suspects. He didn't even know if he could trust pretty Maggie, who gave him such a warm welcome, or Colette, the sparkling saloon singer whose talents were not only vocal.
