Chris Nickson has written a number of series and I really need to check them out. Some of them have modern day detectives. But this series set in the 14th century has captured my interest. This is the second of a four book series about a carpenter who also solves crimes.
Perhaps I enjoy the way the author weaves 14th century life into his stories, or that his hero has a family he worries about and who worries about him.
About half-way through the book I looked at one of the characters and wondered if that was the killer. Nah. No way! Of course, that was who it eventually turned out to be.
