5-star review from a mom (at amazon): "I found this at my local library and read this to my little guy for Christmas. What wonderful stories. They have great morals, easy to understand reading for all ages, very colorful illustrations. I will always recommend this book to others to share with their children."

From Booklist
Ages 6^-9. Although the title page lists Santa Claus as author, the authorship belongs to Sheila Black, who has selected 11 of Santa's favorite stories about elves on long winter nights. "Christmas Tree Soup" will remind children of "Stone Soup" ; other stories deal with finding perfect presents or conquering disbelief about jolly St. Nick. The roundup isn't likely to displace any holiday classics, but the stories, which feature numerous colorful illustrations by a variety of illustrators, are perfect for reading aloud and will appeal to adults in search of new tales that provide comforting characters, such as talking bears and winsome kittens. Product Description
Jolly old St. Nick himself narrates eleven charming tales of Christmas magic and memorable characters, including an impetuous elf who learns an important lesson on a wild sleigh ride, imaginatively illustrated in full-color throughout.
