I was at a local bookstore a month ago.  Saw a paperback book on the new fiction shelf.  Trying to be good - I did not buy it.  Of course, now I can't recall the title.

Cover was white.  Story line was something along the line of deadly virus released that looses potency at high altitudes.  People hiding on a mountain try to decided to go down mountain.  Hope that I got that right.  For some reason the word "altitude" sticks with me.

Any help is appreciated for this forgetful reader!  Thanks!

You might try searching barnesandnoble.com or other book sites using the words "virus" and/or "altitude" and see if you spot the cover.   You should be able to sort the search results by publication date.  That might help you narrow your search, since it is a recent book.
