I like Leigh's style. She writes smart and sexy tales with independent yet agreeable heroines, in depth and admirable heroes, and a knack for just the right amount of clever dialogue without the snarkiness or forced comedy. Once again, she delivered a unique and insightful story; this time about Maggie, a commoner and popular writer of burlettas (mini operas) struggling with writers' block, and Cam, Viscount Marwood, who is a theater devotee and the biggest fan of her productions.

Yes, theirs is a forbidden love affair that could go nowhere (class differences, of course). That part is standard conflict. But the characterizations are what made the story come alive. I got an intriguing view of the special torture writers go through when their muse has flown away when facing a deadline and the expectation from an adoring fan base. Maggie gets to jet away to Marwood's estate for a retreat and inspiration. And, oh my, does she EVER get inspired.

Marwood is one lucky, lucky man. The opportunity to offer his favorite burletta writer his own estate as a haven is, of course, a chance of a lifetime. He considered helping her an honor. Best of all, he simply wanted to be around her (yes, he had a sensitive streak, too). I ate it up. When things heated between them, Maggie at last found her muse. Cam found his heart. And I found another prized author.

Even when your brain believes it is impossible, your heart will always find a way. This is the inevitable truth of every happy-ever-after ending. Heroes experience their ah-ha moment, and heroines find peace in acceptance. And this reader joined the collective sigh that came from witnessing a declaration to top most others that only the bravest of men can pull off. You simply must read this one. You really do. 4.5 stars.

This was an ok story, there wasn't much too it to really make you want to keep reading.
Just another she doesn't like or trust those in the ton and he is a Lord and wants her. Not much to the chase and no other storyline to go with this back and forth.
