Anna Campbell is a sure bet for a great read because she always delivers exciting plots, multi-faceted characters who work out just the right amount of conflict to keep them interesting but not rip out your guts, and passionate romance with each and every book she writes. Her stories never get old for me.

With A Scoundrel by Moonlight, the fourth in her Sons of Sin series, I am reminded once again of why she is one of my favorite authors. This time, the plot centers around James, Marquis of Leath, a victim of stolen identity, and the very proper Nell Trim, gone incognito in his household to exact her revenge against the man she believes is responsible for her sister's death.
Of course, as she tries to reconcile the depraved rogue she has heard of with the dedicated and thoughtful man she sees every day, they grapple with their mutual attraction, however, their differences in social class and his political career loom heavily.

Finding a way to be together was near impossible as the usual hurdles presented themselves; they had to face some very incriminating evidence, clear up misunderstandings, and thwart a dangerous blackmailer. Yet the telling made it all fresh and exciting. As a bonus, while James and Nell were making new friends and allies, I enjoyed the reappearance of a few characters from earlier in the series. And who can resist a hero who realizes early on that he can't live without his love at his side, no matter what? I have a serious weak spot for the strong hero who shows his vulnerability (in front of others, no less!) when faced with the very real possibility that his lady may be forever lost to him. Mmm, delicious!

So if you're looking for a sure bet that has lots of page-turning action and a healthy dose of passionate embraces, I heartily recommend this stirring addition for your keeper shelf.
