This is the first Carlton Stowers book I have read, and it will not be my last. It is the best true crime book I've ever read as well. It describes gruesome murders, but it also tells a compelling story of the search for the killer and the stories of the victim's families. Excellent.

One of the best true crime stories I've read in a long time. This writer, Carlton Stowers, easily could be compared to Ann Rule when it comes to excellent writing, and thorough researching. His compassion for the victims and their loved ones shines through every line of the story as it is told.
Five lovely young women are savagely beaten and stabbed to death by an elusive sociopath who manages to keep police guessing for years until one special investigator is handed the cold case and pinpoints the killer within days. Author Stowers manages to nail down all the facts and tie up the loose ends very effectively, not leaving the reader hanging for a moment. I appreciate that in a true crime writer. I can, without hesitation, give this book a five star rating, and highly recommend it to lovers of this genre.
