I really wanted to like this book. The hero/heroine are pretty engaging and I really like the cowboy theme.

But...the woman needs an editor. There are so many themes in this book that were started and then dropped it was unreal.

For instance, an imporant character is in the hospital for much of the book. Several discussions happened at the beginning about how they would pay for some of the stay/therapy. By mid-book topic was totally dropped. I guess the money just magically appeared somehow. It is romance - it's okay - but don't mention the issue if you won't resolve it!! Argh!!!

And that wasn't the only issue brought up and totally dropped by the end of the book.

And there was a great thrown in almost to show a "hey, look I'm sorta modern" but never used. For instance, in the beginning it mentions how attached the heroine is to her cell phone. (She even texts, that modern gal!) She then gets into more than one situation out alone where she could use some help and she never *once* even flips the darn thing open to see if she's got a signal. And it's in Nebraska, so it's not like there are tons of mountains in the way.

Like I said, I wanted to like it but in the end I couldn't overlook some of the continuity issues.

When I first started reading this, I didn't think I would like it, due to the fact that it starts very slow. But I stuck it out and was pleasantly suprised to find that after awhile I got hooked. Good light romance. Very cute.
