I LOVED This book and literally couldn't put it down. I was annoyed because I didn't want to make dinner, so DH got it together so I could finish the book!. The history of the Romanovs is one of my fascinations and I'll read anything I can get my hands on about Russian history.

The story is about three women in different time periods, my favorite being Lena, the servant and friend of Empress Alexandria. The story enfolded easily between three different times, keeping me agonizing on what was going to happen next. The ending......well, you sure don't see it coming! It was a fitting end. Perfect!
