What a fun debut novel by Ms. Kincheloe! Anna is a young woman who is constrained by her father and society to not do the one thing she really yearns for which is to be a police detective. She figures ways around it and leads all the men in her life on a merry chase while she solves a crime or two. I don't want to say more so as not to give away the plot. But I enjoyed this historical mystery with a little romance thrown in. I hope there is a sequel and more adventures of Anna Blanc, Matron Holmes, Aimee Amour! Well done.
