I thought that this was a really good story. Both people came into the marriage with secrets and serious emotional baggage that neither wanted to unload or share with the other. More in a protection sense, not really a selfish one. They both grew to be very good people, considering what they had to grow up with.

One of the early writings of an outstanding author, well worth reading. Well rounded characters that emotionally pull you into the story.
