This is strange. I used an old link to get on the site and got this message... "This page is accessing information that is not under its control. This poses a security risk. Do you want to continue."

It gave the option yes or no and I said no, but it stayed on pbs so I shut that screen. I tried 3 times and got the same message. Finally I opened a new internet window and typed the pbs addy in the box and am still getting this message. I also upped my security level from medium to medium high, but I have not re-booted-  I am at work. Anyone else getting this security message?

Today I get "there was an error processing your request" message when logging into either PBS or SACD but the page loads (and looks) fine. ::shrug::

ETA: It's still doing it. Hmmm.

It may have to do with the security documentation/certificate.  I wouldn't worry about it too much.

I get messages like that from my Macafee every so often about websites I visit all the time.  Usually it happens after I've updated Macafee or adjusted my security settings.

I don't use Macafee. I had a similar "error processing your request" window pop up, but the page loaded anyway.  Sounds like something's wonky over here because I've never had that happen before.

PBS is probably the safest site on the internet :)  Probably just new updates that your system hasn't seen before -- probably why it's nervous.

I've had the same "error processing your request" message for the past few days. It happens during the login process, but everything looks right once I get logged in.

I've been getting that msg. off & on for about a week.  It better work because I wouldn't know how to fix things.  Also what is the red circle with a blue comma in it for?  I probably didn't read something but iy has me curious.

By the red circle with the blue comma I think you mean a blue footprint?  It kind of does look like a comma.  That's the passport feature--click the circle to see where that copy of the book has travelled on PBS.

I am not seeing any warning messages myself when I log into PBS.

farmerj, where are you seeing the red circle with a blur comma??  I am still getting the security message. What bothers me is that it says..... the page is accessing information that is not under its control.

that makes me think it is a 3rd party and not pbs that is running it.

I can assure you that there is nothing on the PBS page that is doing this. It could be quite a few different things that is causing this for you. Have you tried using a different browser to see if the browser is the issue? Has your secutiry settings recently been modified? There are two great places to start looking at.

Robert, not sure if you posted before or after my feedback email.  This is happening at work, I have not been on my home pc in a couple of days. I changed my security level after this started happening.   We do have a firewall on our server; I dont think anything has changed there. And I am not getting this message with any other sites or software I use.

I use IE, If you mean have I used Foxfire or something else - then no.

Like I said I just wanted you to be aware, and that it is not just my pc but some other members also. Everything is working fine on the site. I will not worry about it any more. thanks JB

Happening here to... "There was an error processing your request". The error says it's originating from secure.paperbackswap.com, according to the title of the popup. I'd be happy to send a screen shot if that will help, Robert. Been happeing a few days here too.

What is everyone doing when they are getting this error? Are you logging in? Searching for a book? etc....

I just got it when coming into the site - I'm in my 2 weeks auto-login so I'd guess the logging in is what caused it. I was going directly to my main account page.

I'm also getting the error message, "There was an error processing your request" when I come to the page. I have to click on "OK", but then it will go ahead and automatically log me in.

That is exactly what is happening with me when I log in.

I'm also getting the error processing your request message and it's usually when I navigate to the site.

I took a screenshot and then scaled it down... this is the address bar and error I'm seeing.

Hope that helps.

Logging in. It does it every single time I leave the PBS/SACD and come back. The site loads fine, but I do have to click "ok" to get the box to go away.

I'm logging in using the same bookmark that I've been using for months using Firefox.  I am getting the same thing that Candy B is.  I right click to close the box, but the page loading doesn't depend on whether I've closed the pop-up.

Nothing has changed on my system in the past couple of months.  This has just started this week.

HTH

ETA I tried another browser (Netscape) and the PBS transition pages give me messages about some unencripted data on a secure page.   This may have to do with my Firefox update rather than PBS?  I believe I've updated that in the last couple of weeks.

ETA (2) Internet Explorer doesn't give me an error message, but I got a couple of these -

The page cannot be displayed The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might be experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your browser settings.

I keep getting the "error processing your request" message too, but also have no problem using the site.  I just figured it was because something was changed and DH's laptop didn't like it.  :)

This issue should now be fixed. It was an issue with the site but not any security realted, wierd that the browser chose that error message.
