This book started really slow. I mean like 200 out of 300 hundred slow. I believe Willingham was attempting to give up the back story of the pain and love this couple shared, but I didn't feel it.
I picked this book up because I LOVED the ones I read from her MacEgan brothers, but this one lacked the fire of those.
I wanted to ache for Alex's lost and duty, but we didn't see enough of him. The story is good and the last 50 pages are exciting and fast paced, but I would have like more depth of emotion to rate it higher.
