I was going through my transactions archive today, just looking at what all I've done. It can be funny to see how many copies of a book the system will go through until it finds a member who can/will send it sometimes. Anyway, I was noticing that I've actually had a couple of "problem" transactions along the way that I was never even aware of at the time. One was for me sending a damaged book and the other was for me not meeting requestor conditions. I cannot recall getting an e-mail or PM for either time as to what was wrong, and I wouldn't have even realized it if I hadn't been going through my transactions. I'm not concerned on the level of worried about my account or anything. Just curious mainly because I cannot imagine how either book had a problem. The "damaged" book was an audio cassette that was in working order, but the box holding them wasn't in great condition, so I imagine that might have been that one. As for the conditions, I cannot imagine that I would have sent a book that I even remotely thought violated them. I'm just wondering if there is a way for me to access these transaction in any way and see what was wrong with them. Since members have to report the problem, am I able to see what they say? I'm really not interested in PMing either of them since these transaction happened awhile ago, and I'd rather not take it to R&R because I know they have more important things to deal with. So is there anything I can do on my side, or shall I be forced to never know what went wrong? Thanks :) |

Kimberly, you can go through your old Club Communications and see if maybe you missed a message about them, but the CCs are only archived for 30 days I believe so if the transactions are older than that I don't think you can see them. Oh by the way as far as the audio book was concerned, the help files say:
So if someone reported it as damaged by sender because of the casing, they did so wrongly and it should be removed from your account. Last Edited on: 7/21/07 5:54 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

I have had one damaged book transaction, PM sent to requestor, she said she pushed the wrong button! |

How do you know if someone reports "received with a problem"? Does the PM that arrives telling you "Your book xxx just earned you a credit" ? have it buried inside the text, or is it more obvious? |

If a book is reported as received with a problem, you will get an email telling you that your book was marked as such, and if the book requester sends you a PM about it, you get a PM with a subject heading about a New Book Communication or something like that. Unless you have emails from the club turned off, then you won't know about it unless you check your Club Communications log. |

If you put your mouse on the check mark, it will say 'damaged by sender' or whatever. If you go to the other side of the page, you will see where it says ' details' maybe you can get more info there. I just went and looked and say I have one too. I just sent her a PM because I also never got a PM about it. I am set up to get all club communications, but i missed this one! |

I didn't think there would be any way for me to check what went wrong other than trying to PM the members. I definitely would have done that if I had realized the problem when it happened, but it's been so long now, that I feel that it's not worth it. I'm with you Paige. I'm almost sure I never received any communication about the problem. I'm going to go check that my club communications are all set up right, but I'm already pretty sure they are, because I do receive other types of communication. I guess this will just teach me to check my transactions archive a little more regularly. Thanks for the help :)
