The only place I've found to see this is on the reminder list, so I end up adding books to my reminder list just to see if there's one or fifty in the system. I'd love to be able to see that info on my bookshelf, right where the W for waitlist shows up.  I'm guessing that's not possible?

Thanks in advance!

I think when they finally implement the new WL system they are going to have it so you can see copies posted w/o putting it on the reminder list.

It's something people have been asking for for a long time.

I would like to be able to see it without adding to my WL and RL, it just seems like twice the work to find out your wait time....hopefully something will be done and we'll get our wish.

Sure it would be nice.  But I would be surprised if this feature is added to the bookshelf.  If it's not there at this point in time I'm thinking it's not there as part of the business plan.  It's just a felling I have.

Well, I'm glad to see that I'm in such good company on requesting the visibility, in any case!

It would be a nice feature - but I'm okay with the current situation.  TPTB are currently upgrading other graphic elements - like putting squares around our notes we put on books.  I'm not sure if this is a functional upgrade or an esthestic upgrade.

What does the W stand for anyway?  At first I thought someone was wishing for it, until I figured out that if that were the case it'd be gone pretty quickly.

Yes Marion, the W on Bookshelf and TBR means someone is wishing for it.  You may not have finished reading it yet, or you may have decided to keep it.  So the Ppl wishing for it can't get it yet.

Thanks Dan!  I forgot some of those bookshelf books were on hold.  Got it.  :)

I would love it too.   I suspect that when we post a book to our bookshelf and find that its 498th copy, TPTB are thinking we will get discouraged .   Maybe it results in taking our books out of the system and finding other things to do with them.   I think some people (like myself) just want to be encouraged that they are moving along at some sort of clip and are patient enough to see it through.

Also with members becoming inactive, the number of copies in the system is probably inflated to some degree.   I am about to order through FIFO 3 books that have many, many copies.  I hope to weed out a few inactive members and make some books move up the chain. :)

It could also work to the sites advantage...   if I have books where there are lots of copies already posted, I would take mine to a paperback trader and trade them for books that arent as numerous and post them instead.

I too was trying to see if this info could be found!  It would be great to be able to see this!

Well, you can send a note to the PBS team to tell them that.  They don't really read this (or any) forum.  So if you really are wanting that - "contact" them!
