A sweet and amusing tale of Sterling Brooks, on Earth a selfish man, who has been trying to get into Heaven for over 40 years. A celestial council gives him a chance to redeem himself and sends him back to earth to help someone in need. At Rockefeller Center, he finds a grieving child who doesn't understand why her father and grandmother left her so abruptly and won't come home. There's a bit of villainous comedy relief in this one.
I enjoyed this book an great deal. It was easy to read and it allowed me to mentally escape into a world of possibilities. It has increased my faith in something I already believe... that there is a God who is watching and taking care of us, and an unseen world that is constantly influencing our lives.

He hasn't been able to get through the pearly gates, because while he was alive he was a hopelessly self-absorbed human. This holiday season, he's given a chance to redeem himself and is sent back to Earth to find someone who needs his help.
A heartwarming holiday tale which is reminiscent of "It's a Wonderful Life".

To redeem himself, he is given the chance to go back to Earth and find someone to help.
At New York's Rockefeller Center skating rink, Sterling encounters Marissa, a heartbroken seven-year-old whose father and grandmother have been forced into the Witness Protection Program; they had overheard two gangsters hatch a sinister plot to collect money from a debtor. Able to travel through time and space, Sterling devises a master plan to reunite little Marissa with her family in time for Christmas. Along the way, he discovers within himself what it takes to earn his wings.
This was much better than the movie. The "Queen of Suspense" mary Higgins Clark, and best selling autho Carol Higgins Clark acclaimed mother and daughter duo behind the best seller Deck the Halls reunite in their second holiday treat
