Summary:
Yulia Chernina, is kidnapped by the KGB and put into a training program for kids with special abilities. During this time, she is put through multiple tests and experiments. Once training is completed, she will be thrust into spy work to find out information on the US space exploration program. With more psychic teens, she is supposed to fight for Russia to gain the upper hand in the space race. Unfortunately, as Yulia continues to work she realizes that everyone is the enemy. She can't even trust the other teens that she works with, as they can be reading her mind or invading her thoughts at any moment. How can Yulia save herself?

My thoughts:
This definitely is an entertaining novel. It took me a few pages to really get into it, but Yulia is a strong, exciting young woman. She is in charge of things and strong enough to make her own decisions. Smith has definitely created a character that makes you want to root for her and protect her at the same time. On top of that, the plot is adventurous and mysterious. I flew through the book and then wanted to read it again. Smith's writing style is beautiful and her sentence structures are unique. She can capture your interest with some well worded figurative language, or be blunt and to the point. Smith is definitely an author to keep an eye on.
