This is just a preface, thank you for reading.

She sat in darkness...the perfect setting for insanity to control her. Some vaguely familiar song is being hummed somewhere at the core of her being.

"What do you think you should do?"

"Shhh., I'm thinking."

"Singing: Once, I was a little girl, little girl, little girl..."

"I said SHUTUP!"

Tears start to drip, it finally hits her that she is not alone even though the room is empty. Memories pour in, she realizes that she hasn't been alone for at least 10 years now. All the memories of her parents and the comfort she felt while her sisters were sobbing. The tears start falling faster. Not fitting in in grade school, it all made sense now. While everyone teased her for being stupid, she had an intelligence far greater than she even knew.

" Why are you crying, you've known I've been here? A mini you, helping you shut yourself down. I've always grabbed your hand and took you to your special hiding place. Don't you see? I am you!"

"Don't say that, What if I pass you on to my babies? I know Reuben is already like me, he has that sparkle in his eye...George is different, he has more of his Daddy in him."

Her head drops down, tears hit the finished concrete. Plip...Plip...Plip.

At 23 years old, she finally understands she's different than anyone else...and was meant for something greater.
