i got a large order from a member with the following rc I cannot accept books that are CURRENTLY in a smoking home. Sorry. Also, please NO highlighting, underlining or writing in the body of the non-fiction books sent. Inscriptions on the front cover/title page/back cover are fine. As stated in the Golden Book Rule please don't send books with liquid damage. Thank you.
i usually send to most rc's but since the crisis started i have declined a few just because they made me a little nervous or i wasn't totally comfortable with them. would you send to the above rc? any thoughts or comments are appreciated. thanks. |

Yes. It seems straightforward about what they are looking for and since we're not a smoking household I'd have no problems sending. If your books had liquid damage you wouldn't be posting them anyway and if your books have highlighting underlining or writing, you would be supposed to PM and get an okay due to the textbook exception. They're basically preempting that, which is a good thing for a sender because you can decline the RC without losing your place in the FIFO, which is not what happens if you have to cancel the request. I generally don't accept any kind of scent RCs, but for a large order I might make an exception. Hers seem pretty straightforward. As long as my books met them (and besides the smoking one, they're all part of the regular rules anyway), I'd mail them. |

I'd mail, like the others said, the only condition not part of the site guidelins is the smoking part. So if your home is smoke free then send the books as your books should meet the other PBS conditions anyway and you agree to those conditions every time you post a book. It doesn't ask for the book's history of smoking households just the current one it is in. edit I just posted a book and this is what I had to click to agree to: I promise to follow the Golden Book Rule: My books have front and back covers, all pages, no liquid damage, no writing or highlighting, are not Advanced Reader Copies (ARCs), and my books are in generally Good Condition https://www.paperbackswap.com/help/help_item.php?id=205.

To me the key word here is CURRENTLY. If you don't smoke then I would see no problem sending the books. Good luck. Pat |

I'd mail too. yesterday I got another smoky smelling book despite my RC. Even the inside of the bubble envelope smelled of it. This is milder odor than many bad smelling books I receive so I am trying one of the fixes often discussed here in the threads. |

I would mail them. I know some folks would just refuse based on the number of rc's, but if they would just read they would realize that beyond the smoking one all the others are from the Condition Criteria from the Help Center. |

Yes, mail of course. The conditons requested are not even close to subjective |

If your books fit the criteria...send. |
