I like this book for its clear, detailed explanation of the three ways of constructing a sock that I have seen most commonly. It also has fun, good-looking patterns in both colorwork and stitch patterning. One of the best things about this series is that they give tables of number of stitches for different sizes and gauges. The book is grouped by stitch repeats--i.e. 5-stitch patterns are in the same chapter. Make any size sock you want with whatever yarn you want to usethis book adjusts.
However, when I went to the errata page, there were 22 pages of corrections. (The way the publisher did it, sometimes they give an entire replacement page and sometimes just a short explanation of the error. Some are given so that the pattern is more clearly explained. That's a lot of errors, just not as many as it sounds like.) These do not appear to be the errata for my book, because someone has taken the trouble to correct a few of the errors in my book, where the corrections are shown as they are in the publisher's corrected pages, but are not shown as needing correction. I'm thinking that these may be the errata pages for the electronic version of the book, because some of the errata listed do not need correcting in my paperback. Use this book with caution, no matter which version you have. The errata pages: http://shopmartingale.com/corrections/B687_corrections.pdf
I went back and counted, and when I finished with the errata, there were fourteen corrected patterns in the book of a total of 69 sock patterns or color or texture patterns.
If not for the errata, I would have given the book a much higher rating.
