What a fun and original Urban Fantasy! The Immortal Dealers each have a deck of cards (similar to tarot cards) and a spirit animal. The cards can be played either alone or in combinations to create the effect the Dealer wants. Some of the cards have healing properties, so effectively giving the Dealer immortality.
But, not having a full deck weakens a Dealer, and limits what he or she can do.
I really enjoyed this book, and I'm looking forward to the next one in the series.
