This is a larger-than-life hero who was successful in so many areas of life. Coming from a paltry home-life, he did not allow his past to hamper his future. Seth was pivotal in claiming Yellowstone as a national park, the first in the world. It encompasses 3000 square miles and 400 animal species, plus Old Faithful, the geyser. His early action saved countless animals from extinction.

This is a short, absorbing biography of one of the most undervalued men of the Western tradition. In only nine months, Seth Bullock was able to tame a town with an uncontrolled lust to kill indiscriminately. Later, he would befriend Theodore Roosevelt during two of the most difficult years of Roosevelt's life. As both men were conservationists at heart, they acted together to save some of the most beautiful and wild parts of America for future generations.

It was a delight to read about such a sterling character from America's past.
