The first work I've read from this author and I was thoroughly impressed. I'm a big urban fantasy reader. It took me a bit to get into the story, and most first books have alot of detail and world-building. But once I got to the "meat" of the story, I was like a dog with a bone. Not letting go until I'm finished!

Kira is a wonderful character. You have sympathy for her backstory, but she doesn't let it rule her life. She builds character and strength from her weaknesses. A fascinating and versatile heroine who you will come to love as she makes her choices.

Khefar is a warrior hunk over 4,000 years old. He wants his dagger back and will do everything within his power to get it. But Kira and Khefar will have to work together because a darker force is closing in on them. They'll have to keep their desire for one another on the back burner before they get burned alive.

Shadow Blade is a gritty and raw urban fantasy that sets the tone for more in the series. I'm looking forward to more adventures.

Great book. Really enjoyed this one and the two after it. Wish there were more.

I am always looking for paranormal reads and I really enjoyed this book. The heroine was believable and I enjoyed the byplay between her and the hero. The daggar thing was different, the daggar as a sentient being was interesting. As I got into the story, I realized that it was part of a series so I immediately put this author's other Shadowchaser books on my wish list. The friendship between witches, demi-gods, humans and near Immortals plus the Egyptian theme was very good. I would recommend this series if you are looking for something a little different than vampire and werewolves.
