Now throw in some Russian folk lore, elves of ash-colored hair and pointy teeth, orcs being the first children of the earth, a wise-ass goblin, and a most reluctant hero. This book was a joy to listen to. It was one of those random picks that I borrowed from the library based solely on the cover. Shallowness did not lead me astray this time; this book is excellent adventure. Alexey Pehov gave us a nitty gritty tale filled with grey-area characters full of mystery. I especially liked Harolds sarcastic wit and practical take on events.
