Yet another outstanding Billy Budd adventure from Benn. In this one Billy and Kaz are tracking down French Resistance fighters who are killing allied officers who they feel were responsible for the deaths of hundreds of comrades and civilians by withholding support.
As he often does, Benn includes real people and units in his narrative. This includes a future U.S. Senator who was a member of the famous 442nd Regimental Combat Team, a unit made up mostly of Japanese-Americans, which became the most decorated American unit in military history. The men in this unit were awarded 21 Medals of Honor and literally thousands of other medals for bravery in combat.
Although this one is WLed, my copy has to go back to the county library.
