The concept for the series and the characters are excellent. Unfortunately it is often difficult to follow the story line if you don't remember all that happened in the first book in the series. I would expect it to be almost an impossible read for someone who did not read the first book in the series.

I really liked this book. According to the author's web site her publisher has taken a pass on the third book in this series. It's a shame. I would love to continue to read more of this series.
