Cait OConnell lost her job as a cop and her husband and former partner, Sam, and now when she isnt working PI cases, shes drinking Scotch to quiet the voices she hears. When her mentor turns up missing, Sam pulls Cait in on the case. Suddenly Cait is showing Sam another part of the world he didnt know existed and another part of her.

All I can say is that my 2 complaints are 1) It wasnt longer and 2) I dont have book 2 to dive into next. I devoured this book cover to cover. Cait is a complex heroine and once Sam starts uncovering all her layers he realizes how little he knew about his wife and I have the feeling we still have a few more secrets to discover. Their attraction is almost lethal in its combustibility. The pages practically pulse with their passion.

And then there is Morin a magical mystery man. Hes part of Caits past and you know hes going to be popping up in future books to show her the way. Cait is one lucky lady.

This was a quick read and the start to what I am hoping is a long running series. I am addicted to the characters already and you can bet I will be buying Lost Souls when it comes out in June. I would highly recommend to fans of paranormal romance.

I think this is an intriguing paranormal tale that combines romantic suspense with a mesmerizing tale of otherworldly beings. The vivid image of the anomalous clue in the mirror is spine-chilling and the description of the subsequent investigation is sprinkled with unexpected developments. The Memphis police department may have to take on new consultants regularly given its connection to eerie phenomena but fortunately there are those who are willing to step up and this feisty heroine is one of them. I like that she is flawed yet has people around her to see that she can be so much more than she believes. The gradual reveal of the backgrounds of a couple of the men in Cait's life is fascinating and I look forward to learning more about her capabilities as well as their roles in helping her grow. A couple of the scenes remind me of a certain movie about psychic phenomena and I suspect that Cait's life is going to get progressively more complicated since the voices in her head are not only multiplying but are also developing personalities and demands. Be advised there are definitely spicy scenes in this book so if that offends you, better that you not read this story.
