Vincenzi writes like a soap opera but I get very caught up in her plots and she manages to keep suspense going. I like her boooks and they are long which is a plus for me!

It took me two weeks just to get to a hundred pages in this book. Usually if I don't care for a book I will at least finish it but I just could not get into this book. It was boring, and too many characters to keep up with. I would not recommend this book.

Wow! This was a fun fast read. I felt like I was watching a movie rather than reading. I would especially recommend it to those of you who love London.

I lived in London around that time and it brought back a lot of wonderful memories.

Book Description
Set against a background of newspaper journalism and politics, and the exhilarating freedom of the backpackers' trail, SHEER ABANDON is perhaps the most exciting and intriguing of all Penny Vincenzi's novels.

One night in 1987 an abandoned baby girl is found in a cleaning cupboard at Heathrow airport. A year earlier, three girls, Martha, Clio and Jocasta had met by chance, at the start of a backpacking adventure: they travelled together briefly and then separated to go their different ways, swearing to meet again when they return home. But it would be a long time until they met again: not until Kate, the foundling, is a teenager, and the three women are all leading successful lives. Martha is a fiercely single, highly paid corporate lawyer, Clio a doctor, locked in an unhappy marriage to a surgeon, and Jocasta a reporter for a tabloid newspaper, in love with a charming commitment-phobe. Which of them is Kate's mother? Why was she desperate enough to do such a thing, and how did she survive it?

From the back cover:
Clio, clever, ambitious, locked in an unhappy marriage to a surgeon. Martha, fiercely single, dedicated to her job, but secretly rather vulnerable. Jocasta, wild and impulsive, in love with a charming commitment-phobe, ripe for a new affair.
Clio is a successful doctor. Martha, a highly paid corporate lawyer, just embarking on a career in politics, and Jocasta is a reporter for a tabloid newspaper with an infallible instince for a big story.
One of these three women... (Oh, you'll have to read the back cover yourself)
