From the back cover: "What was it Brett Holiday's father had said to him when he was just a kid? 'I don't believe in accidents,' his father said. 'God puts us together with certain people in a certain place at a certain time for a reason. You'd do well, son, to find out what those reasons are.'

Brett Holiday was just out for his late afternoon jog, feeling a little sorry for himself as he had been lately. Here he was, star quarterback for the Los Angeles Rams, watching his fasttrack career about to be sidetracked by a knee injury and a younger hotshot player just aching to replace him. Brett was having trouble focusing on a life outside the limelight. Ariane, his beautiful, brilliant wife, was trying to understand what he was going through, but that only made him feel worse. Her career was just beginning to bloom while his was on the verge of fading. Part of him was afraid he was going to become nothing more than yesterday's news, ex-football hero, husband of a successful attorney.
Jogging down an alley, a flash of movement behind some trash cans caught his eye. Instinct warned Brett to jog on past, to escape while he had the chance. But something inside him knew that in this certain place, at this certain time, he should stop. That's when Brett came face to face with Fox-a belligerent, defiant young kid in his too tight t-shirt and shoes two sizes too small. They locked eyes, and in the lean, mahogany face of this gangly adolescent, Brett saw the hard, cold eyes of a cynical old man.
A certain person in a certain place at a certain time for a reason. As random as it may have seemed, Brett Holiday had a divine appointment - one that would change his life in ways he could never have imagined."

One of the authors, Rosey Grier, was actually an All-Pro defensive tackle for the New York Giants and part of the Los Angeles Rams' "Fearsome Foursome". He's also an ordained minister. Kathi Mills, the other author, is an award-winning writer. 246 pages, 20 chapters.
