A great book. It is about the lives of two women and one man. It is a hot book in more than one way. The first time I read it was back in 1974 and it still kept me reading.

"The Other Side of Midnight" is Sidney Sheldon at his best, writing about romantic entanglements, reverses of fortune, thrilling suspense, and ultimate justice. Beautiful but poor Parisian Noelle Page falls madly in love with American Larry Douglas during WWII. When she becomes pregnant, he deserts her, thus setting her on a path of revenge that consumes her very being. Ruthlessly driven, she becomes a supermodel, movie star, and finally, as mistress to mega-rich Constantin Demiris, Noelle is reunited with Larry. Will she make him pay for what he did to her... or will she fall under his spell again?

This was my first Sidney Sheldon book. I loved it. I read it one day and I read the sequel the next day. They only thing that I had trouble with was that it didn't seem like it took place in the 1940s. It seemed more like the 1970s. I'm not sure if its because the book was written in the seventies or that I haven't read many books that took place in the forties so I have a hard time visualizing it. I will definately be ready more Sidney Sheldon in the future.

I know this book has been around for a long time, but it is still an excellent story. A young European beauty falls in love with an Amer.soldier only to be heart broken. But, boy does she get her revenge! (and much more than she'd imagined) Can't put it down.

In painting you have to have dark in order to show light. Its best if these two extremes are right next to each other even touching. It is so with this love triangle. Dark tragedy and innocense lost.
