Basically a rant against the bureaucratic leadership of the U.S. Army in Europe during World War II. While it certainly has substance, based on my other readings, I think it was a bit overdone. This book won't appeal to most people, and it is not a keeper for me.
This is an excellent WWII personal narrative. Phibbs writing is clear, poignant and at times very funny. I felt like I was right there with him.
