Silenced is the sequel to Soon by Jerry Jenkins, one half of the writing team that came up with the Left Behind series. It's a little different from Left Behind in that it doesn't mention the rapture. It chronicles the trials and tribulations of a new believer trying to fight for Christ in a world that has abandoned religion. The main character, Paul Stepola is a double agent, working for Christ and also for the National Peace Organization.
This is a wonderful book that I would recommend to anyone who enjoys Left Behind and other similar books.

WOW! What a series...

For those who don't know, "Silenced" is book 2 in this Jerry Jenkins series. Book 1 is, "Soon"...and book 3 is, "Shadowed".

"Silenced" picks up with Dr. Paul Stepola, having experiance a true miracle from God in his own life, ready to commit his life to the Lord completely...but how is this going to effect his work as an agent in the National Peace Organization? He is asked, by some underground zealots that he has been put in contact with, to be a "double agent", but work on the side of the Lord. Paul has to make this all-important decision that will certainly effect his wife, Jae, 2 children Connor & Brie, but most certainly his father-in-law, Ranald...who is also his boss at the NPO!

I liked this book and enjoyed the intrigue as we follow our main character through as he is suspected of being a traitor. This book is a good bridge to keep the reader going to the end of the series. I was especially happy to see how Paul's conversion affected his wife and family.

The second of a trilogy following the events unfolding around the world - a world that has banned the practice of religion - any religion.

Dr. Paul Stepola continues to work as a religious adviser to the National Peace Organization....however, he has problems...unbeknownst to his family or to his employer, he has become a believing Christian.

Another great read that I would recommend to any and all.(see my review on the first book "Soon".)

The author keeps violent gory descriptions to a minimum but the world is/will be a violent place and violence will be with us to the end of time.
