Spain, 2020; Jack Cleland watches his girlfriend die, involving officer Cristina Sanchez Pradell, he promises to exact his revenge and destroy the policewoman. A SILENT LIFE Cristina's aunt Ana has been deaf and blind. She is the center of Cleland's cruel plan. John Mackenzie Glaswegian investigator -- is assigned to aid the Spanish authorities in their manhunt. He alone can silence Cleland. I found this book to be atmospheric and gave us a good sense of what it is like to be deaf and blind. Only Peter May can pull this off and make you feel like his character feels. It's not one of his best books but still a good read. I look forward to reading Lockdown as I have been living it for the past year.
