What a cast of characters : Thomas Edison, D.W. Griffith, Mary Pickford and The Black Hand (Mafia); along with silent films, the "casting couch" and voice recordings on cylinders. But my overall favorite item in the book was the cannolis. Not the pale imitation you get at a supermarket, but real ones from an Italian bakery. Alas, we don't have one in my town.
