D.I. Kim Stone and her team are tasked with investigating the death of Teresa Wyatt, the headmistress of a local high school. After talking to people she worked with, Kim learns that Teresa used to work at a home for juvenile girls. Another murder victim in the area also has ties to the same children's home. As the investigation continues, bodies buried on the grounds of the children's home start turning up. Kim and her team must find a murderer who has killed teen girls, and is now targeting the people who cared for these girls.

This was a well written story with many engaging characters. Kim is a woman whose past plays a big part in who she is now. Some people find her rude and standoffish, but she doesn't care. She has a loyal team working under her who are very good at their jobs. The mystery is well paced and kept me interested throughout the story. There are a lot of twists in this story and a big surprise near the end. I highly recommend this debut novel. My rating: 4 Stars.

My Review:
This is an excellent debut by Angela Marsons. The characters are all very interesting. I especially enjoyed the characters of D.I. Kim Stone and D.S. Bryant. They make a great team. The plot was intricate with many twists and turns which made it a real page-turner. The book took off from the very beginning and held my attention until the very surprising ending. I look forward to reading the 2nd book in the series very soon and highly recommend this book to those who love mystery thrillers.
