I picked this up as part of blind collection of romances. A lot of the romances were grouped by theme, and unfortunately the theme turned out to be something I wasn't particularly interested, Moms with children in peril of some type. Actually, this one was of the better ones. Estranged parents, mother is killed and son ends up with his aunt, his mother's sister. Man is father of child and wants to spend time with him, while he fights for custody.

Sit on the end of your seat suspense. The child knows everything, just wait to see who did it.
