This was a very interesting book written in an unusual manner. I really enjoyed it. While it wasn't a page turner, it was well written but again, the style is a bit unusual. If you are looking for something different and thought provoking, you should definitely give this one a try. It may not be for everyone but I really enjoyed it...particularly the prose and the unexpected ending.

"An entrancing, many-layered tale painted with the delicacy of a Chinese landscape....In evoking the life of eighth-century China, its poetry and legends, its resonance and richness, Silk Road is a complete joy to read." --New York Newsday
