Heavy handed, hits you with a hammer over and over, telegraphs every insight - but a very powerful and well-crafted book

A trauma nurse goes to New Orleans to find her missing sister who she hasn't seen in ten years. She enlists the help of another trauma nurse. A page turner that kept me interested till the end. Very good book

Nicely suspenseful - while avoiding the obvious cliches.

Forensic nurse Chastity Byrnes thinks she has her life sort of under control, until a brother-in-law she doesn't know she has calls to say her sister is missing. Chastity hasn't seen or heard from her sister in ten years, but off she goes to New Orleans to search. Chastity has some significant problems, easy enough for the reader to guess at and later spelled out in the book, and the search is bringing back all sorts of old demons. Great cast of characters, a wonderful sense of place, and an interesting mystery with some nice twists. The alert reader will figure out what's going on before the author tells all, but that doesn't detract. A very good, fast-paced book, and I finished it in one sitting.

I found it both interesting and exciting. Takes place in New Orleans, weaveing the local with the story very well. Full of twists and turns with a few surprises along the way.

A good, fast book about a forensic nurse looking for her sister in New Orleans. The author lives in St. Louis and usually writes about St. Louis locations, so this was different but good!
