Set in a Norwegian background, this is a very good Dick Francis, written in 1973.

One of Dick Francis' earlier novels - same mixture of horse racing and murder mystery - very engaging, "real" feeling characters - fast-paced and exciting. This time, Francis' protagonist is a young but capable chief investigator for the British Jockey Club, who goes to Norway to solve the disappearance of a British jockey. A great read!

Excellent mystery by Francis. Although I don't know much about horse racing, it was easy to pickup the lingo. I highly recommend this one.

I was really sad to reach the end of this book, it was so good. I love his characters and his books are so real, you feel like youre there in the story and rooting for the good guys.
