This book was hard for me to read. It happened just a few miles from my town in Truth or Consiquences, New Mexico. It is really scarry to know there are people out there like this. It is Jim Fielder'd first true crime book and I think he did an all right job. He rambles a little bit about stuff that is not important to the story in my opinion. He is no Anne Rule but he knows his stuff. Enjoy reading this book I did.

If you are a true crime fan, you will enjoy this book. The author has a similar style to Ann Rule. The story is very interesting, but not for the easily upset. There are some very graphic parts to this book.

I read this book and was deeply disturbed. I read certain passages to my granddaughter because, young people think they are invincible and nothing can happen to them. It made her more careful. She never goes out without friends or a group. The fact that it's a true story makes it even more chilling.

Absolutely horrifying true crime. The pathology is interesting, if gruesome and might shine a light on getting citizens to wake up to the seemingly benign weirdos in their communities. i knew some of this monsters family, and even though they were superficially normal and respected within the community, their dynamic was almost as bizarre and wretched as David Ray Parker

I like to read true crime books, however, this one was so graphic in describing the crimes, I had to put it down. I never finished reading it,

This book is about New Mexico sex serial killer David Parker Ray and his girlfriend Cynthia Hendy. Ray had a $100,000 homemade torture chamber called The Toybox which he used to torture women and police also believe he may have slain more than 60 women.

This is an extremely gruesome story and one that is not for the squeamish to read. It's hard to believe "man's inhumanity to man" and Ray fits this bill. In this telling of Ray's story you will feel the horror surrounding circumstances of how these women were tortured and some put to death.
