Good reading for those who enjoy old buildings, and a strong argument for the preservation of small workers' houses. Helen McCann has succeeded in actually rescuing a small derelict building, thereby demonstrating powerfully the feasibility and value of that effort. She provides in this book readable, non-pedantic advice and encouragement to would-be restorationists.
